Phone Basics Battery Tips Your phone is like a small computer, giving you a lot of information and apps, with a touch display. Depending on what you use, that can take a lot of power. To save battery life, you could reduce: ⅷ Recording or watching videos, listening to music, or taking pictures. ⅷ Widgets that stream information to your home screen, like news or weather. (See "Home Screen" on page 16.) ⅷ Email updates: Touch > Email > > Email settings > Email delivery. Touch the check box next to Data push to uncheck it, and then touch Fetch schedule > Manually. ⅷ Turn off Bluetooth power: touch > Settings > Wireless & networks > Bluetooth. ⅷ Turn off Wi-Fi: touch > Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi. ⅷ Display brightness: Touch > Settings > Display > Brightness > (dimmer setting). ⅷ Display timeout delay: Touch > Settings > Display > Screen timeout > (shorter setting).
