Receiving Automatically in FAX Mode Your machine is preset to Fax mode at the factory. If you have changed the fax mode, take the following steps to receive faxes automatically: 1 In the fax idle mode, press Menu until "Fax Setup" displays on the top line. 2 Press the scroll buttons until "Receive Mode" displays on the bottom line and then press Enter. 3 Using the scroll buttons, select "Fax" and then press Enter. 4 When you receive a call, the machine answers the call on a specified number of rings and receives a fax automatically. Receiving Automatically in ANS/FAX Mode For this mode, you must attach an answering machine to the EXT. jack on the back of your machine. 1 In the fax idle mode, press Menu until "Fax Setup" displays on the top line. 2 Press the scroll buttons until "Receive Mode" displays on the bottom line and then press Enter. 3 Using the scroll buttons, select "Ans/Fax" and then press Enter. 4 When you receive a call, the answering machine will answer. 3.4 RECEIVING A FAX If the caller leaves a message, the answering machine stores the message as it would normally. If your machine hears a fax tone on the line, it automatically starts to receive the fax.
