If the document is within the margin, and the RX Reduction feature is turned ON, it will be reduced to fit into the appropriate size paper (Discard does not occur). If the Auto Reduction feature is turned OFF or fails, the data within the margin will be discarded. Settings range from 0 to 30 mm. Prefix Dial: You can set the prefix dial number up to 5 digits. This dial number is dialed first before any autodial number is started. It is useful to access PABX exchange. Receive Start Code: Receive Start Code allows you to initiate fax reception from an extension phone plugged into EXT. jack on the back of the machine. If you pick up the extension phone and hear fax tones, enter the Receive Start Code. The Receive Start Code is preset to *9* at the factory. Settings range from 0 to 9. ECM Mode: Error Correction Mode compensates for poor line quality. The options are "On" or "Off". If the line quality is poor, the transmission time may be increased when the ECM is enabled. To display or change default system setup options: 1 Press Menu until "Fax Setup" displays on the top line. 2 Press the scroll buttons until the desired option displays and press Enter. 3 Press the scroll buttons to select the desired status or use the number keypad to enter the desired value for the option you have selected. 4 Press Enter to save the selection. 5 If necessary, repeat Steps from 3 to 5. 6 To return to idle mode, press Stop/Clear. 6.8 ADDITIONAL FEATURES
