Chapter 17 Bandwidth Control Figure 39 Bandwidth Control The following table describes the related labels in this screen. Table 29 Bandwidth Control LABEL DESCRIPTION Active Select this check box to enable bandwidth control on the switch. Slot Select the slot at whose settings you want to look. Port This field displays the slot number and port number. * Settings in this row apply to all ports. Use this row only if you want to make some settings the same for all ports. Use this row first to set the common settings and then make adjustments on a port-by-port basis. Ingress Rate Active Commit Rate Active Peak Rate Active Egress Rate Apply Cancel Note: Changes in this row are copied to all the ports as soon as you make them. Select this check box to activate commit rate limits on this port. Specify the guaranteed bandwidth allowed in kilobits per second (Kbps) for the incoming traffic flow on a port. The commit rate should be less than the peak rate. The sum of commit rates cannot be greater than or equal to the uplink bandwidth. Select this check box to activate peak rate limits on this port. Specify the maximum bandwidth allowed in kilobits per second (Kbps) for the incoming traffic flow on a port. Select this check box to activate egress rate limits on this port. Specify the maximum bandwidth allowed in kilobits per second (Kbps) for the outgoing traffic flow on a port. Click Apply to save your changes to the switch's run-time memory. The switch loses these changes if it is turned off or loses power, so use the Save link on the top navigation panel to save your changes to the non-volatile memory when you are done configuring.
