Microprocessor 0.01 mL of thermal grease 5. Use the thermal grease syringe to place 16 uniformly spaced dots of 0.01mL each on the top of the microprocessor. Fan bracket Note: 0.01mL is one tick mark on the syringe. If the grease is properly applied, approximately half (0.22mL) of the grease will remain in the syringe. 6. Install the heat sink onto the microprocessor as described in "Installing a microprocessor" on page 42. This section contains instructions for removing and replacing the fan bracket. Complete the following steps to remove the fan bracket: 1. Turn off the server and any attached devices. 2. Disconnect external cables and option cables from the back of the server. 3.
