Product Is Making Unusual Noises Troubleshooting Probable Causes The printer is not level. The tray is not installed correctly. There is an obstruction or debris inside the printer. Solutions Place the printer on a flat, hard, level surface. Open and close the tray you are printing from. Turn off the printer and remove the obstruction or debris. If you cannot remove it, contact Technical Support. The Date and Time Are Incorrect Probable Causes Did you set the correct date and time? Solutions Ensure you have set the correct Date and Time on the control panel. Duplex Problems Probable Causes Media or settings are not correct. Solutions Make sure that you are using correct media. For more information see Supported Media on page 41. Do not duplex custom-sized media, envelopes, labels, heavyweight stock, or transparencies. In the printer driver choose Print on Both Sides. Scanner Error Probable Causes Scanner is not communicating. Solutions Turn off the printer, and check the scanner cable. Wait 2 minutes and turn the printer on again. If the problem is not resolved, contact your local Xerox service representative. Front Door Will Not Close Probable Causes One or more of the consumables are missing or installed incorrectly.
