ADVANCED SETTINGS Changing the Focus Mode Your camera provides you with the five focus modes described below. The initial factory default focus mode is Auto Focus. Focus Mode Description Focus Range* Auto Focus Automatic focus when the shutter button is half-pressed. Auto adjustment During movie recording, the Auto Focus mode is disabled. (Approximately 40 cm to (1.3' to )) • Minimum distance position varies with optical zoom. Macro (Close-up) Used for close-up shooting. Macro Focus becomes fixed focus while shooting a movie. Auto adjustment (10 cm to 50 cm (3.9" to 19.7")) • Minimum distance position varies with optical zoom. Pan Focus Fixed focus for relatively wide-range focusing. Use Pan Fixed distance Focus (PF) under conditions where Auto Focus is difficult. • Focus range varies with optical zoom position. Infinity Focus is fixed at infinity. Use this mode when shooting scenery and other faraway images. Infinity Manual Focus is performed manually. Focus • Focus range varies with optical zoom factor.
