Shooting with Zoom Your camera provides you with 3X optical zoom (which changes the lens focal distance), which can be used in combination with digital zoom (which digitally process the center portion of the image to enlarge it) for total zoom capabilities of 12 - 45.2X. IMPORTANT! • Generally speaking, the higher the digital zoom factor, the coarser the image that is recorded. However, digital zoom can be used up to a certain point without causing deterioration of the image. • Digital zoom is not supported while "Timestamp" (page 135) is turned on. 1. Enter the REC mode.
