Setting preferences Use the Preferences window to set the following: • Font in the CMC • Locale for the CMC • Naming conventions for storage elements • Online upgrade options (see Setting upgrade preferences, page 46) Setting the font and locale Use the Preferences window, opened from the Help menu, to set font and locale in the CMC. Select the font that meets your needs. When you installed the CMC, it used the locale setting from your computer. If you later change the locale on your computer and open the CMC, it uses the new locale, if available in the CMC. You can override the locale setting from your computer by selecting a different locale in the CMC. Changing the locale in the CMC, affects the language of the text that appears in the CMC and in the online help. Setting naming conventions Use the Preferences window, opened from the Help menu, to set naming conventions for elements you create when building the HP P4000 SAN Solution. Using the Alarms window
Warning and critical events for all management groups you are logged in to appear in the Alarms
window. Alarms stay in the Alarms window until the situation is resolved. For more information, see
Alarms and events overview
on page 121.
Setting preferences
Use the Preferences window to set the following:
Font in the CMC
Locale for the CMC
Naming conventions for storage elements
Online upgrade options (see

Setting the font and locale
Use the Preferences window, opened from the Help menu, to set font and locale in the CMC. Select
the font that meets your needs.
When you installed the CMC, it used the locale setting from your computer. If you later change the
locale on your computer and open the CMC, it uses the new locale, if available in the CMC.
You can override the locale setting from your computer by selecting a different locale in the CMC.
Changing the locale in the CMC, affects the language of the text that appears in the CMC and in the
online help.
