Chapter 5 - Setting Preferences Systems Manager Transaction Settings The parameters that control standard transactions can be found on the Transaction Settings tab in the Systems Manager. To set preferences for standard transactions 1 From the DCM main screen, choose Setup > Modules. 2 Select the Transaction Settings tab. 3 Set preferences, as needed. For help, see the next table. Summary of Transaction Parameters Parameter Scan Unit of Measure Allow Creation of Batches Restrict Scanning Quantity Use Generic Desc. instead of Short Description Prompts the user to scan a unit of measure (if applicable) for certain transactions such as an inventory transfer or a physical inventory where different units of measure are possible. Enables users to create new Great Plains batches from the CK30. If not selected, you can only use existing Great Plains batch IDs for EasyADC transactions If selected, you cannot scan information at a quantity prompt. Use this option to prevent users from accidentally scanning UPC barcodes when at a quantity prompt, which results in erroneous quantities in inventory. The parameters that control standard transactions can be found on the
Transaction Settings
tab in the Systems Manager.
To set preferences for standard transactions

From the DCM main screen, choose
Setup

Modules.

Transaction Settings
tab.

Summary of Transaction Parameters
Parameter
Description
Scan Unit of Measure
Prompts the user to scan a unit of measure (if applicable)
for certain transactions such as an inventory transfer or a
physical inventory where different units of measure are
possible.
Allow Creation of
Batches
Enables users to create new Great Plains batches from the
CK30. If not selected, you can only use existing Great
Plains batch IDs for EasyADC transactions
Restrict Scanning
Quantity
If selected, you cannot scan information at a quantity
prompt. Use this option to prevent users from accidentally
scanning UPC barcodes when at a quantity prompt, which
results in erroneous quantities in inventory.
Use Generic Desc.
instead of Short
Causes EasyADC to display the generic description on the
CK30s instead of the short description from the Item
Maintenance Screen in Great Plains.
