Chapter 1 - Introducing the EasyADC System What is the EasyADC System? EasyADC™ is an easy and efficient bar code data collection system that seamlessly integrates with the Microsoft® Business Solutions Great Plains® (versions 6.0 through 7.5) database. This system automates Great Plains warehouse and distribution services (including shipping, receiving, basic inventory tracking, and bar code label printing) using Intermec® bar coding, handheld computers, wireless networking, and printing technologies. EasyADC is a self-contained starter system for adding bar code data collection to the warehouse distribution environment and has these advantages: • Reduced errors • Increased speed • Optimized inventory • Improved order-to-cash cycle • Rapid ROI (Return on Investment) EasyADC Hardware Components The standard EasyADC system includes three products: • Two CK30s, wireless handheld computers with integrated bar code scanners • One WA22, high-speed and high-security wireless access point • One PM4i, industrial-strength thermal label printer EasyADC Software Components The EasyADC for Great Plains system consists of three applications: • The EasyADC Console • The EasyADC Data Collection Manager • The EasyADC Great Plains CK30 Menu System What is the EasyADC Console? The EasyADC Console provides a simple, comprehensive management tool for monitoring and managing your Intermec automatic identification and data collection network. The console also allows you to add CK30, WA22, and PM4i devices to the EasyADC system.
