General Guidelines for Working in the CK30 Menus Topic Case sensitivity Selecting an option Entering data "Blank to..." Description All CK30 menu options are case-sensitive. When you key a field in uppercase, the database is updated in uppercase. If you key an inventory name in lowercase and the database has it stored in uppercase, the item cannot be found. To select an option from any CK30 menu, you press the number associated with the option and then press Enter. There are several ways to "enter data" with the CK30: • Scan a bar code • Type the data on the keypad and press Enter • Scroll through a scroll list to the item and press Enter You may want to scan most data from bar codes, except the quantity of an item. You enter the quantity by typing it on the keypad. The CK30 menus include Great Plains terminology. For example, you may see prompts such as, "Blank to use above." This means that you need to press Enter to select the value shown above. Scrollable Lists in CK30 Menus Characters ? or ~ or = > Description These characters appear when there is a scrollable list to select from. Press ?, ~, or = followed by alphanumeric characters to skip to that portion of the list. For example, entering "~COM" jumps to the vendor COMVEXIN0001 from a scrollable list of vendors. Entering "?COM" or "=COM" jumps to the same vendor. These characters appear when there is a scrollable list to select from. To move through the list, press the left arrow (press the orange B key and a) or the right arrow (press the orange B key and b). When you find the desired selection (or when the correct value is displayed) press Enter to select the currently displayed value. General Guidelines for Working in the CK30 Menus
