Chapter 3 - Using the Data Collection Manager When designing labels, you must reference particular fields properly to have them print on a label format. The required structure for field names differs between Great Plains table data and values on the Label Manager screens, but both types are presented here. You can access the EasyADC Label Manager values by specifying a field name from one of the lists provided. The proper naming convention for referencing a Great Plains field when designing labels is: Table Physical Name.Field Physical Name. Using Purchase Order Labels as an example, a correct format for the PO number field might be POP10100.PONUMBER. You can obtain this information from Great Plains. In Great Plains, choose Tools > Resource Descriptions > Tables to find individual field names within each table. To follow the example below, click the button to the right of the Table box, and then select Purchasing from the Series drop-down list on the next screen. Table Names: Selecting Purchasing from the Series drop-down list. Next, find and select the desired table, and then click OK. A list of fields that make up the table displays on the screen. Note that the Physical Name values for both the table and fields must be used when defining the data to print during the label design process. EasyADC System User's Manual 47
