50 Getting Started Using the computer for the first time Using the computer for the first time Opening the display panel Slide the display latch to the right, then lift the panel. Opening the display panel CAUTION: Be sure not to force the display panel open beyond the point where it moves easily. Never lift or move the computer by grasping the display panel. Turning on the power 1 Make sure the diskette drive is empty. 2 If you have a printer connected to your computer, turn the printer on and wait until it indicates that it is ready (online). 3 Turn on the computer by momentarily pressing then releasing the power button.
