xStack® DGS-3200 Series Layer 2 Gigabit Ethernet Managed Switch QoS Scheduling Mechanism The Scheduling Mechanism drop-down menu allows a selection between a Weight Fair and a Strict mechanism for emptying the priority classes. To view the following window, click QoS > QoS Scheduling Mechanism: Figure 4 - 6. QoS Scheduling Mechanism window The Scheduling Mechanism has the following parameters. Parameter Description Strict The highest class of service is the first to process traffic. That is, the highest class of service will finish before other queues empty. Weight Fair Use the weighted round-robin (WRR) algorithm to handle packets in an even distribution in priority classes of service. Max. Packets (0255) Specifies the maximum number of packets the above specified hardware priority class of service will be allowed to transmit before allowing the next lowest priority queue to transmit its packets. A value between 0 and 255 can be specified. Click Apply to allow changes to take effect. 95
