Remove the new drive from its protective wrapper, and place it component-side down on a clean ESD-protected work surface. 3. Record the drive model and serial numbers in your equipment log. 4. Attach the SATA-to-IDE converter board to the CD-ROM / DVD-ROM drive. See letter "A" in the following figure. 5. Place the left side of the drive into the drive carrier as shown in the following figure. See letter "B" in the figure. 6. Insert the CD-ROM / DVD-ROM drive carrier assembly into the front opening in the chassis. See letter "A" in the following figure. 8. Plug the SATA cable and power cable into the converter board. Installing a CD-ROM / DVD-ROM Drive
1.
Remove the top cover. For instructions, see
“Removing the Top Cover” on page 90

2.
Remove the new drive from its protective wrapper, and place it component-side

3.
Record the drive model and serial numbers in your equipment log.
4.
Attach the SATA-to-IDE converter board to the CD-ROM / DVD-ROM drive. See
