Installing and Removing the I/O Riser Board Installing the I/O Riser Board 1. Remove the top cover. For instructions, see "Removing the Top Cover" on page 90. 2. Being careful not to touch the components or connectors on the I/O riser card, remove the card from the anti-static bag and place it on a clean, ESD-protected work surface. 3. Optional: Install the Intel® Remote Management Module 2 (Intel® RMM2) and RMM2 NIC onto the I/O riser board. For instructions, see "Installing the Intel® RMM2 and NIC Module" on page 119. 4. Rotate the retention latch at the rear of the card slot into the up position. 5. If an expansion slot cover is installed, remove it by sliding it up. 6. Press the card down firmly until it seats into the slot. 7. Install the top cover. For instructions, see "Installing the Top Cover" on page 91. Removing the I/O Riser Board 1. Remove the top cover. 1.
