2 Shoot. zzTo activate the screen and prepare for shooting when the screen is off but the lens is still out, press the shutter button halfway. Power-Saving Adjustment Adjust the timing of automatic camera and screen deactivation (Auto Power Down and Display Off, respectively) as needed (=27). zzChoose [Power Saving] on the [ 2] tab, and then press the [ ] button. zzChoose an item, press the [ ] button, and then press the [ ][ ] buttons or turn the [ ] dial to configure the setting. ●● To conserve battery power, you should normally choose [On] for [Auto Power Down] and [1 min.] or less for [Display Off]. ●● The [Display Off] setting is applied even if you set [Auto Power Down] to [Off]. ●● These power-saving functions are not available when you have set Eco mode (=161) to [On]. Screen Brightness Screen and viewfinder brightness can be set separately. Before adjustment, make sure the display to adjust is activated. zzChoose [Disp. Brightness] on the [ 2] tab, press the [ ] button, and then press the [ ][ ] buttons or turn the [ ] dial to adjust the brightness. ●● For maximum brightness, press and hold the [ ] button for at least one second when the shooting screen is displayed or when in single-image display. (This will override the [Disp. Brightness] setting on the [ 2] tab.) To restore the original brightness, press and hold the [ ] button again for at least one second or restart the camera. World Clock To ensure that your shots will have the correct local date and time when you travel abroad, simply register the destination in advance and switch to that time zone. This convenient feature eliminates the need to change the Date/Time setting manually.
