Facility requirements A Facility requirements The facility where the PowerConnect B-DCX-4S is in use must meet the following requirements to provide for correct operation: • Adequate supply circuit, line fusing, and wire size, as specified by the electrical rating on the chassis nameplate. • An air flow of at least 250 cubic feet per minute (425 cubic meters per hour) in the immediate vicinity of the PowerConnect B-DCX-4S. • Electrical interference less than the levels stated in the standards listed in Table 15. • The environmental specifications listed in Table 19. • The power specifications listed in Table 20. Furthermore, if the PowerConnect B-DCX-4S will be installed in an EIA rack, ensure the following: • All equipment installed in the rack has a reliable branch circuit ground connection, and does not rely on a connection to a branch circuit, such as a power strip. • The rack is balanced and mechanically secured to provide stability in the event of an earthquake. • Additional equipment does not exceed the rack's weight limits. Environmental requirements Table 19 lists the environmental operating ranges for the PowerConnect B-DCX-4S. The requirements for non-operating conditions are also provided for acceptable storage and transportation environments.
