Using the Array Configuration Utility The Type Keyword Type is a required keyword, indicating the type of array to create. There is no default value. Consult Table 13-5 for a listing of the possible values for the keyword Type and the minimum number of drives required for each type. Table 13-5 Type Keyword Values Type Keyword Values Volume RAID0 RAID1 RAID5 RAID10 (stripe of RAID 1 mirrors) RAID50 (stripe of RAID 5s) Examples: Type=Volume Type=RAID1 Note: For information about the maximum number of drives allowed and minimum number of drives allowed, see RAID Levels and Drives Information on page 13-4. The End Keyword End is a required keyword, indicating the end of an array definition block. Example: End The HotsparesDrives Keyword HotspareDrives is an optional keyword, specifying the spare drives to assign to the array. Spare drives are specified in the same way as the Drives property.
