Printer control-panel problems The following table lists common printer control-panel problems and suggested solutions for resolving them. When powering up the printer for the first time, the control panel remains blank. Cause Solution The formatter became disconnected during shipment. 1. Turn off the printer. 2. The formatter cover has a black lever at the top and bottom. While pushing the top black lever down and the bottom black lever up, use the levers to pull the formatter partially out. 3. Push in the formatter until the black levers click into a secured position. 4. Turn on the printer. Printer control-panel problems

The following table lists common printer control-panel problems and suggested solutions for resolving

them.

When powering up the printer for the first time, the control panel remains blank.

Cause

Solution

The formatter became disconnected during shipment.

Turn off the printer.

The formatter cover has a black lever at the top and

bottom. While pushing the top black lever down and the

bottom black lever up, use the levers to pull the formatter

partially out.

Push in the formatter until the black levers click into a

secured position.

Control-panel settings do not work correctly

Cause

Solution

The printer control-panel display is blank, even when the fan

Fans might run while the printer is in standby mode (off). Press

the printer power button to turn on the printer.

Printer settings in the software program or printer driver differ

from the printer control-panel settings.

Confirm that the settings in the program and printer driver are

appropriate. The program settings override the printer-driver

and control-panel settings, and the printer-driver settings

override the control-panel settings.
