Align the triangle icon on the microprocessor with the triangle icon on the socket and press the microprocessor gently into the socket. Attention: Make sure that the microprocessor is aligned correctly before you proceed. To avoid bending the pins on the microprocessor, do not use excessive force when pressing it into the socket. d. Close the locking lever to secure the microprocessor. Pressing gently on the top of the microprocessor while closing the latch helps ensure a good connection. 11. Install the heat sink: a. Remove the heat sink from its package and detach the protective cover from the bottom of the heat sink Attention: Do not disturb or contaminate the heat-conducting grease on the bottom of the new heat sink.
