Note: See Chapter 8, "Parts listing, Type 8870," on page 249 to determine which components are replaceable by the customer, and which components should be replaced by an IBM field service technician. Beep/symptom FRU/action 3-3-2 (Critical SMBUS error occurred) 1. Disconnect power cord, wait 30 seconds, retry. 2. DIMM. 3. SMP board. 4. I/O board. 3-3-3 (No operational memory in system) 1. Verify that lower SMP Expansion Module contains correct Note: This message occurs if at least 64 number of DIMMs; install or reseat DIMMS, then reboot. MB of memory DIMMs in lower SMP Note: If this error occurs when only two DIMMs are installed in the Expansion Module is missing or lower SMP Expansion Module (in slots J1 and J3), complete the defective. following steps: a. Remove the DIMMs from slots J1 and J3 of the lower SMP expansion module, and move them to slots J2 and J4. b. Start the server and, from the Configuration/Setup Utility program, enable the disabled memory bank, save and exit. c. Shut down the server. d. Move the DIMMs from slots J2 and J4 to slots J1 and J3. e. Start the server. f. If the 3-3-3 error still occurs, repeat the above procedure after replacing the recommended FRUs listed below. 2.
