Note: See Chapter 8, "Parts listing, Type 8870," on page 249 to determine which components are replaceable by the customer, and which components should be replaced by an IBM field service technician. Service Processor message FRU/action Upper CEC + 3.3V Fault 1. Follow the Light Path to determine the failing component. 2. Verify that the system power present indicator is ON (see "Center plane connectors, jumpers and LEDs" on page 159). 3. If the system power present indicator is OFF: a. Power backplane b. Power supplies 4. VRM J44 on upper SMP Module. 5. Upper SMP Module. Upper CEC +1.8 Fault 1. If VRM indicator on Light Path card is ON, replace failing microprocessor VRM. 2. Verify that the system power present indicator is ON (see "Center plane connectors, jumpers and LEDs" on page 159). 3. If the system power present indicator is OFF: a. Power backplane b. Power supplies 4. Microprocessor VRM. 5. Microprocessor. 6. Upper SMP Module. Upper CEC +2.5V Fault 1. Verify that the system power present indicator is ON (see "Center plane connectors, jumpers and LEDs" on page 159). 2. If the system power present indicator is OFF: a. Power backplane b. Power supplies 3. VRM J28 on upper SMP Module. 4. Upper SMP Board. Upper CEC Machine Check: xxx 1. Refer to previous log entries. 2. Examine the Light Path indicators to determine if the error was caused by a microprocessor or a DIMM. 3. Verify that all scalability cables are firmly attached. 4. Run diagnostic programs. 5. Replace component indicated by Light Path indicators. 6. Scalability cables. 7. Upper SMP Module. Upper CEC Port 0 Power Fault 1. Verify that the scalability cables are firmly connected. 2. Run diagnostic programs. 3. Scalability cables. 4. Upper SMP Module. 5. Lower SMP Module. Upper CEC Port 1 Power Fault 1. Verify that the scalability cables are firmly connected. 2.
