Remote Supervisor Adapter communication ports The server has four connectors that are used by the Remote Supervisor Adapter or Remote Supervisor Adapter II-EXA. Three of the connectors are located on the adapter and one is located at the lower left corner of the rear panel (as viewed from the rear). If you want to use the Remote Supervisor Adapter to manage the server remotely or to connect the server to another server, connect the appropriate cables to the Remote Supervisor Adapter ports. To enable remote server management through a network, use the Remote Supervisor Adapter Ethernet port (RJ-45). To enable remote server management using a modem, use the Remote Supervisor Adapter management port. To connect the server with another server, use the ASM interconnect port (RJ-14). See the appropriate Remote Supervisor Adapter User's Guide on the IBM Documentation CD for more information.
