9. Disconnect the cables between the PCI brick and the DASD backplane (see "DASD backplane" on page 175). Note: Although the DASD backplane itself does not have to be removed, failure to disconnect the DASD backplane cables may result in the PCI brick becoming entangled in these cables at step 11. 10. Push down on the release handle ( 3 ) and pull it forward, which causes the PCI brick to slide forward slightly. 11. Continue to slide the PCI brick as far forward as possible, and then slightly to the right ( 4 ). 12. Lift the PCI brick straight up and out of the server ( 5 ). 13. To reinstall the PCI brick, reverse the above steps. Note: The PCI brick connects to the chassis with tabs that connect with seven slots on the bottom of the chassis and two slots on the side of the chassis. Line up the tabs on the PCI brick with the slots on the chassis, and then slide the PCI brick into place. Center plane This section shows the locations of items on the center plane and contains information about removing and replacing the center plane. Center plane connectors, jumpers and LEDs The following illustrations identify connectors and LEDs on the center plane. This center plane is used to connect the power and signal paths for the SMP Expansion Module, I/O board, and the Remote Supervisor Adapter. Center plane connectors and jumpers The location of connectors and jumpers on the center plane are illustrated in Figure 104. Note:
Although
the
DASD

itself
does
not
have
to
be
removed,
failure
to
disconnect
the
DASD
backplane
cables
may
result
in

in
these
cables
at
step
11.
10.
Push
down
on
the
release
handle
(
±3²
)
and
pull
it
forward,
which
causes
the
PCI
brick
to
slide
forward
slightly.
11.
Continue
to
slide
the
PCI
brick
as
far
forward
as
possible,
and
then
slightly
to
the
right
(
±4²
).
12.
Lift
the
PCI
brick
straight
up
and
out
of
the
server
(
±5²
).
13.
To
reinstall
the
PCI
brick,
reverse
the
above
steps.
Note:
The
PCI
brick
connects
to
the
chassis
with
tabs
that
connect
with
seven
slots
on
the

Line
up
the
tabs
on
the
PCI

with
the
slots
on
the

and
then
slide
the
PCI
brick
into
place.
