Formatting Your CompactFlash Memory Card You must format CompactFlash memory cards before you use them to store your images. Your camera comes with a 16MB memory card preinstalled in the camera. This card stores your photos, video clips, and audio recordings until you transfer them to your computer and delete them. CAUTION When you format your memory card, all the data is lost, including any photos stored on your card. 3 Press the button next to MEMORY CARD FORMAT to format the card. You see a message warning you that all data on the card will be deleted. 4 Press the button next to Yes to format the card, or the button next to No to cancel. 5 Press the button under BACK to return to the SETUP menu.
