4. Replace the memory riser. CAUTION: Be sure to align the three stand-offs in the alignment slots. Installing a CPU The server can use dual or quad-core CPUs. Dual-core CPUs contain two cores that function as separate CPUs. Dual-core CPUs double the processing power of the CPU while maintaining the physical dimensions of a single CPU. Quad-core CPUs contain four cores that function as separate CPUs. Quad-core CPUs quadruple the processing power of the CPU while maintaining the physical dimensions of a single CPU.
