10 Configuring the HP NetServer Introduction This chapter provides the instructions for setting up the software functions on your HP NetServer. You may choose to do this before or after installing the HP NetServer in the rack. For more information on the overall process, refer to the HP Rack Installation Roadmap and Chapter 1, "Setting Up the HP NetServer." HP NetServer Navigator CD-ROM The HP NetServer Navigator CD-ROM provides the software tools you need to install your respective NOS and configure the HP NetServer accordingly. This includes the various software and firmware utilities and the latest HP NetServer updates and drivers. Contents of the HP NetServer Navigator CD-ROM The main menu of the HP Navigator directs you to modules where you can perform configuration tasks or access online system documentation. The menu buttons for these modules are as follows: • Readme File • Configuration Assistant and Installation Assistant • HP Management Solutions • NetServer Utilities • User Preferences You may be prompted to set the language, time, and date, before the HP Navigator main menu is displayed. You can also set the BIOS displayed language. Obtaining the HP NetServer Navigator CD-ROM Release History The release history indicates the aging of the information contained on the HP NetServer Navigator CD-ROM and ensures you have the most recent firmware upgrades and software drivers for the HP NetServer. 109
