Connecting External SCSI Devices The second LVD SCSI channel B is connected directly to the external VHD (Very High Density) 68-pin SCSI connector on the rear panel. All external SCSI devices are connected to the HP NetServer using this external connector, but the external SCSI devices must provide the necessary termination at the end of the SCSI chain. If no external devices are connected, then no termination is required. The internal SCSI controller terminates channel B electrically, if no external devices are sensed at the connector. CAUTION Do not put high voltage differential (HVD) SCSI devices on the same SCSI channel as Single-Ended (SE) or Low-Voltage Differential (LVD) devices or you will damage the devices. Connecting External SCSI Devices
