Lifting Off the Cover NOTE After removing the top cover, a metal shield (embedded I/O cover) blocks access to the I/O Riser board (it contains connections for peripheral devices - keyboard, mouse, etc.). To access the area under the I/O cover, lift off the I/O cover. 11. To access the area under the I/O cover, use two fingers to grip the finger holes in the cover, and then lift it off. 12. To re-install the I/O cover into the I/O compartment at its location: a. Insert the I2C cable in the cut-out opening in the top of the PCI slot dividers as shown in Figure 3-5. b. Align the left edge of the I/O cover with the PCI slot divider. See Figure 3-5. c. Insert the tabs, at both ends of the I/O cover, into the corresponding slots at each end of the card cage and press down. 32
