Chapter 12 Troubleshooting See Chapter 2, "Controls, Indicators, and Ports" for instructions on checking the error log from the control panel LCD. • If the control panel LCD displays post code FF, the system board could be bad. Contact your support representative for assistance. • If the pass code on the control panel LCD changes from 00 to C0, and there is no video display, ensure the video board is properly seated. • If the monitor is working, check the POST pass code it displays. If the code is between #0 and 3Ah, and the code does not change, reseat the HP NetServer's processor and memory boards and then reboot the NetServer. • If none of the above measures works, clear CMOS and see if the HP NetServer boots. Check the HP NetServer's reference label for instructions on clearing CMOS. l If clearing the CMOS does not solve the problem, refer to "If the HP NetServer Passes the Post but Will Not Function" later in this chapter. • Run the Event Log Report Utility. If the HP NetServer Passes POST but Will Not Function Use these to steps and Table 12-1 to solve POST error problems. l If an error message displays on the screen, read the error message text for recommended actions to take. l If the actions do not solve your problem, contact your reseller. l If there is no error message, follow these steps: 1.
