Loading Index Paper in the Paper Feeder (Cassette 5 to 8) (page 7-42) Loading Index Paper in the Multipurpose Tray (page 7-32) Loading Index Paper in the Multipurpose Tray (page 7-48) Letterhead Because letterhead paper has a top and a bottom and a front and a back, loading in the wrong orientation may result in incorrect printing. Before loading letterhead that has not been registered in Paper Catalog in the paper source, check the orientation of the top and bottom and the front and back. Select [Letterhead] for the media type. 1 Display the screen. [System Menu/Counter] key > [Device Settings] > [Paper Feeding] > "Cassette Settings" [Cassette 1 (to 8) Settings] 2 [Manual] > [Media Type] > [Letterhead] 3 Set the action for special paper types. [System Menu/Counter] key > [Device Settings] > [Paper Feeding] > [Paper Feed Settings] > [Special Paper Action] 4 Configure the settings. Select [Adjust Print Direction] or [Speed Priority]. Banner Paper When directly feeding banner paper from the main unit multipurpose tray, load one sheet at a time. If Banner Guide 10 is installed, you can load up to 10 sheets at once. When using Banner Guide 11, you can feed sheets of banner paper up to 700 mm in length continuously. If over 700 mm, you must load one sheet at a time. Rough Paper Rough paper must conform to the specifications; however, its whiteness may be considered separately. Basic Paper Specifications that can be Used with This Machine (page 7-2) NOTE Before using rough paper in volume, try testing a sample to ensure satisfactory print quality. Thin Paper When thin paper is fed, the machine may falsely detect defects (holes or tears) in the paper and mask a certain area around that location. Before loading the paper, hold it up to light and make sure there are no defective parts. When printing onto thin paper, you must be liable for the print quality and possible trouble. 7-14
