16 − Troubleshooting If the unit is not functioning properly, please check the following items before calling for service. If you are still unable to resolve the problem please contact the retailer where you purchased the unit or TASCAM customer support. 88 Power does not turn on Confirm that the power plug is inserted completely. 88 Media is not detected • Confirm that the USB/SD/CF media is inserted completely. • Stop playback or recording once. 88 Unit cannot be controlled from the front panel Confirm that the panel lock function is not on. 88 Unable to playback a file If it is a WAV file, confirm that it uses a sampling frequency (44.1 kHz or 48 kHz) and a bit rate (16/24-bit) that are supported by this unit. If it is an MP3 file, confirm that it uses a bit rate that is supported by this unit. 88 No sound Confirm the connections with the monitoring system and check the volume of the amplifier. 88 Unable to record • Confirm the connections. • Adjust the recording level. • If the media does not have enough open space, erase unneeded data to make more space or change the media. • If the folder already contains a large number of entries (the total number of files, folders and other items), change the recording folder. 88 Changed settings are not saved This unit backs-up settings whenever you change them. This backup could fail if you turn OFF the power while this data is being written, so do not turn OFF the power immediately after changing a setting. 88 I hear noise Check if any connecting cable might have a bad connection. 88 When editing text, "Name Full" appears Due to limitations of the system, a maximum of 255 characters (single-byte) can be used for items such as file and folder names.
