Software User Manual 12/10/09 D-Link Unified Access System Field VLAN ID and Name VLAN ID-Individual VLAN ID-Range VLAN Name VLAN Type Slot/Port Status Participation Tagging Figure 111: VLAN Configuration Table 96: VLAN Configuration Fields Description You can use this screen to reconfigure an existing VLAN, or to create a new one. Use this pulldown menu to select one of the existing VLANs, or select Create to add a new one. Specify the VLAN Identifier for the new VLAN. (You can only enter data in this field when you are creating a new VLAN.) The range of the VLAN ID is (1 to 3965). Specify the range of VLAN Identifiers for the new VLANs to be created. Use this optional field to specify a name for the VLAN. It can be up to 32 alphanumeric characters long, including blanks. The default is blank. VLAN ID 1 is always named "Default." This field identifies the type of the VLAN you are configuring. You cannot change the type of the default VLAN (VLAN ID = 1): it is always type "Default." When you create a VLAN, using this screen, its type will always be "Static." A VLAN that is created by GVRP registration initially has a type of "Dynamic." You can use this pulldown menu to change its type to "Static." Indicates which port is associated with the fields on this line. Indicates the current value of the participation parameter for the port. Use this field to specify whether a port will participate in this VLAN. The factory default is "Autodetect." The possible values are: • Include: This port is always a member of this VLAN. This is equivalent to registration fixed in the IEEE 802.1Q standard. • Exclude: This port is never a member of this VLAN. This is equivalent to registration forbidden in the IEEE 802.1Q standard. • Autodetect: Specifies that port may be dynamically registered in this VLAN via GVRP. The port will not participate in this VLAN unless it receives a GVRP request. This is equivalent to registration normal in the IEEE 802.1Q standard. Select the tagging behavior for this port in this VLAN. The factory default is "Untagged." The possible values are: • Tagged: all frames transmitted for this VLAN will be tagged. • Untagged: all frames transmitted for this VLAN will be untagged.
