D-Link Unified Access System Software User Manual 12/10/09 Changing User Account Information You cannot add or delete the Read/Write user, but you can change the username and password. To change the password for an existing account or to overwrite the username on an existing account, use the following procedures. 1 From the User menu, select the user to change. The screen refreshes. 2 To alter the username or, delete the existing name in the Username field and enter the new username. To change the password, delete any asterisks (*) in the Password and Confirm Password fields, and then enter and confirm the new password. 3 Click Submit to update the switch with the values on this screen. If you want the switch to retain the new values across a power cycle, you must perform a save. Deleting a User Account Use the following procedures to delete any of the Read Only user accounts. 1 From the User menu, select the user to delete. The screen refreshes. 2 Click Delete to delete the user. This button is only visible when you have selected a user account with 'Read Only' access. You cannot delete the 'Read/ Write' user. If you want the switch to retain the new values across a power cycle, you must perform a save. AUTHENTICATION LIST CONFIGURATION Use the Authentication List page to configure login lists. A login list specifies one or more authentication methods to validate switch or port access for the users associated with the list. The preconfigured users, admin and guest, are assigned to a pre-configured list named defaultList, which you cannot delete. All newly created users are also assigned to the defaultList until you specifically assign them to a different list To access the Authentication Profiles page, click LAN > Administration > Authentication List Configuration in the navigation tree.
