Configuration and Image Files copy The copy Privileged EXEC mode command copies any file from a source to a destination. Syntax • copy source-url destination-url [snmp] • source-url - The location URL or reserved keyword of the source file to be copied. • destination-url - The destination file URL or reserved keyword of the destination file. • snmp - Used only when copying from/to startup-config. Specifies that the destination/source file is in SNMP format The following table displays keywords and URL prefixes: Keyword flash running-config startup-config image boot tftp: xmodem: unit://member/ startup-config unit://member/ image null: Source or destination Source or destination URL for Flash memory. It's the default in case a URL is specified without a prefix Represents the current running configuration file. Represents the startup configuration file. If source file, represent the active image file. If destination file, represent the non-active image file. Boot file. Source or destination URL for a TFTP network server. The syntax for this alias is tftp://host/[directory]/filename. The host can be either IP address or hostname. An out-of-band IP address can be specified as described in the usage guidelines. Source for the file from a serial connection that uses the Xmodem protocol. Configuration file used during initialization (startup) on one of the units. Image file on one of the units. For copy from master to all units you can use "*" in the member field. Null destination for copies or files. A remote file can be copied to null to determine its size.
