Example The following example displays the IPv6 ICMP error interval setting.. Console> show ipv6 icmp error-interval Rate limit interval: 100 ms Bucket size: 10 tokens ipv6 address The ipv6 address Interface Configuration mode command configures an IPv6 address for an interface. use the no form of this command to remove the address from the interface. Syntax • ipv6 address ipv6-address/prefix-length [eui-64] [anycast] • no ipv6 address [ipv6-address/prefix-length] [eui-64] • ipv6-address - The IPv6 network assigned to the interface. The address is specified in hexadecimal using 16-bit values between colons. • prefix-length - The length of the IPv6 prefix. A decimal value that indicates how many of the high-order contiguous bits of the address comprise the prefix (the network portion of the address). A slash mark must precede the decimal. (Range: 3-128 only 64 when the eui-64 parameter is used) • eui-64 - Specifies to build an interface ID in the low order 64 bits of the IPv6 address based on the interface MAC address. • anycast - Indicates that this address is an anycast address. Default Configuration No IP address is defined for the interface. Command Mode Interface Configuration (Ethernet, VLAN, Port-channel) mode. Cannot be configured for a range of interfaces (range context). User Guidelines • If the value specified for the /prefix-length argument is greater than 64 bits, the prefix bits have precedence over the interface ID. • Using the no ipv6 address command without arguments removes all manually configured IPv6 addresses from an interface, including link local manually configured addresses. 216 IPv6 Addressing
