spanning-tree max-age The spanning-tree max-age Global Configuration mode command configures the Spanning Tree bridge maximum age. Use the no form of this command to return to the default configuration. Syntax • spanning-tree max-age seconds • no spanning-tree max-age • seconds - Time in seconds. (Range: 6 - 40) Default Configuration The default maximum age for IEEE Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) is 20 seconds. Command Mode Global Configuration mode. User Guidelines When configuring the maximum age, the following relationships should be kept: - 2*(Forward-Time - 1) >= Max-Age - Max-Age >= 2*(Hello-Time + 1) Example The following example configures the Spanning Tree bridge maximum-age to 10 seconds.
