Example The following example assigns FE80::260:3EFF:FE11:6770 as the link-local address. Console# Console (config)# interface g1 Console (config-if)# ipv6 address FE80::260:3EFF:FE11:6770 linklocal ipv6 unreachables The ipv6 unreachables Interface Configuration mode command enables the generation of Internet Control Message Protocol for IPv6 (ICMPv6) unreachable messages for any packets arriving on a specified interface. Use the no form of this command to prevent the generation of unreachable messages. Syntax • ipv6 unreachables • no ipv6 unreachables Default Configuration ICMP unreachable messages are sent by default. Command Mode Interface configuration mode (Ethernet, VLAN, Port-channel). User Guidelines • If a packet addressed to one of the interface's IP address with TCP/UDP port not assigned is received, and ICMP unreachable messages is enabled, the device sends an ICMP unreachable message.
