In order to perform the encoder sensor test, you must move the carriage slightly so that the encoder sensor can detect the change in status. If the carriage is not moved at all, the Encoder Sensor test will always fail. If the carriage is moved and ONLY the Encoder Sensor test fails, then you need to replace the Carriage Assembly ' page 8Ć37.
