Adding a New Device Search for a Bluetooth device and pair with it, to exchange information between your phone and the device. 1. From the Home screen, press the Center Select Key to select MENU ➔ Settings & Tools ➔ Bluetooth Menu. 2. Use the Directional Key to highlight Add New Device and press the Center Select Key OK. 3. At the prompt "PLACE DEVICE YOU ARE CONNECTING TO IN DISCOVERABLE MODE," activate the target device's discoverable or visible mode and press the Center Select Key OK. 4. Your phone searches for discoverable Bluetooth devices and displays them. Use the Directional Key to highlight the target device and press the Center Select Key PAIR. Follow the prompts pair the devices: • Auto Pairing: If Auto Pairing is On in Bluetooth Options, and the selected device supports it, your phone sends a code to the device. Confirm that the same code appears on both devices, and follow the prompts on both devices to complete the pairing. • Pairing with Passkey: At the prompt, enter a passkey. Your phone converts this to a device code and sends it to the target device. Verify that the code is the same on both devices, and follow the prompts on both devices to complete the pairing. 5. After pairing, you can continue to send a name card, a calendar event, or a picture to the newly-paired device. 6. You can configure options for the pairing. Use the Directional Key to highlight the device in the paired list, then press the Right Soft Key Options: • Remove Device: Remove the highlighted device from the paired list. • Rename Device: Change the name of the device in the list. • Incoming Security: Set the behavior when your device receives a request from the paired device. Choose Always Ask to have your phone prompt you to accept connections from this device. Choose Always Connect to automatically accept future connections from this device. • Service Discovery: View a list of Bluetooth profiles supported by this device. Press the Center Select Key VIEW for more information. • Device Info: View information about the paired device. Settings 139
