1. System Overview Saving and Loading For the sake of convenience, you will generally want to save and reload an entire volume. The use of a "volume save" makes it easy to save the entire main-memory content before switching the A5000/ A4000 off, so that you can then restore the identical environment the next time you switch the power back on. You can resume work exactly where you left off, with all of your samples and programs intact. The use of multiple volumes allows you to prepare multiple environments, so that you can then switch from one to the other during live performance or when working on different projects. If you are using floppy disks only, then you can store only one volume per disk (so that you will need to change disks in order to load a different environment). If you are using a SCSI drive, however, then you can save multiple volumes to the same physical disk. It is also possible, of course, to save and reload one or more selected objects (samples, programs, or sequences). This approach is useful when you want to bring objects from one environment into another environment - for example, when you want to load all objects from one volume and then add selected objects from some other volume. Saving and Loading
For the sake of convenience, you will generally want to save and reload an entire volume. The use of a
“volume save” makes it easy to save the entire main-memory content before switching the A5000/
A4000 off, so that you can then restore the identical environment the next time you switch the power
back on. You can resume work exactly where you left off, with all of your samples and programs
intact.
The use of multiple volumes allows you to prepare multiple environments, so that you can then switch
from one to the other during live performance or when working on different projects.
If you are using
floppy disks only, then you can store only one volume per disk (so that you will need to change disks
in order to load a different environment). If you are using a SCSI drive, however, then you can save
