Chapter 2 IE 3000 Switch Cisco IOS Commands dot1x fallback dot1x fallback Use the dot1xfallback interface configuration command on the to configure a port to use web authentication as a fallback method for clients that do not support IEEE 802.1x authentication. To return to the default setting, use the no form of this command. dot1x fallback profile no dot1x fallback Syntax Description profile Specify a fallback profile for clients that do not support IEEE 802.1x authentication. Usage Guidelines You must enter the dot1x port-control auto interface configuration command on a switch port before entering this command. Examples This example shows how to specify a fallback profile to a switch port that has been configured for IEEE 802.1x authentication: Switch# configure terminal Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z. Switch(config)# interface gigabitethernet1/3 Switch(config-if)# dot1x fallback profile1 Switch(config-fallback-profile)# exit Switch(config)# end You can verify your settings by entering the show dot1x [interface interface-id] privileged EXEC command.
