Cooling fans Your system supports six cabled cooling fans. Removing a cooling fan Prerequisites CAUTION: Many repairs may only be done by a certified service technician. For more information, see Removing the system top cover (front). NOTE: The procedure for removing each fan is identical. Steps 1. Disconnect the cooling fan power cable from the system board. 2. Hold the cooling fan by its edges and lift the cooling fan out of the chassis. 110

Removing a cooling fan

The procedure for removing each fan is identical.
Steps
1.
Disconnect the cooling fan power cable from the system board.
2.
Hold the cooling fan by its edges and lift the cooling fan out of the chassis.
