If you installed a microSD card, you can store your files such as photos, music, and videos to this removable storage. When you connect your phone to your computer, this storage is accessible and you can copy files between them. See microSD Card for more information. Note: The default storage for your files, whether it's the Phone storage or your storage card, may vary from app to app. Some apps allow you to set the default storage. Encrypt Data on Your Phone You can encrypt data such as your online accounts, settings, music files and other media. After encryption, you will need to enter the screen lock PIN or password to turn on your phone and access the data. Important: Set a lock screen PIN or password before encrypting your data. Fully charge the battery and keep your phone connected to the power adapter during encryption. The encryption process takes about an hour. You cannot undo encryption. If you want to return to an unencrypted phone, you must perform a factory reset. 1. Open the Notifications panel, and then touch > Storage. 2. Select the encryption option for the type of storage you want to encrypt. 3. Touch Encrypt. 4. Enter the lock screen PIN or password. 5. Touch Next. 6. Touch Encrypt. Encryption starts and the progress is displayed. The phone may restart a few times. When the encryption process is complete, enter your PIN or password. Reset Your Phone Resetting the phone deletes all data and resets the phone back to its initial state - the state before you turned on the phone for the first time.
