Battery Compartment Components This section contains removal procedures for the following battery compartment components: o Battery compartment o Anti-skid pad o Battery release button spring o Battery release button Removing the Battery Compartment To remove the battery compartment components, follow these steps: 1. Turn the computer off and remove all external devices, including the battery pack and the AC Adapter. Remove the diskette and PC Card, if installed (Section 5.3). 2. Turn the computer topside down. 3. Gently squeeze in the sides of the compartment, rocking it back and forth, then lifting it up from the bottom of the base (Figure 5-25).

Removing the Battery Compartment
To remove the battery compartment components, follow these steps:
1. Turn the computer off and remove all external devices, including the
battery pack and the AC Adapter. Remove the diskette and PC Card, if
installed (Section 5.3).
2. Turn the computer topside down.
3. Gently squeeze in the sides of the compartment, rocking it back and
forth, then lifting it up from the bottom of the base (Figure 5-25).
