Depending on whether you are installing or replacing a full-length PCI card, do one of the following: • If you are installing a new full-length PCI card, remove the appropriate metal slot cover. • If you are replacing an old full-length PCI card, disconnect the power cord from the card, press the card retaining latch as shown to disengage the latch, and then grasp the old card that is currently installed and gently pull it out of the slot. Notes: - Remove any parts that might prevent your access to the latch. - The card fits tightly into the card slot. Remove the new full-length PCI card from its static-protective package. 8. Align the extender on the new full-length PCI card with the corresponding slot in the front fan assembly, and install the new card into the appropriate slot on the system board. See "Locating parts on the system board" on page 6. Note: It is recommended that you install the full-length PCI card into a PCI Express x16 graphics card slot for best performance. 9. Pivot the PCI card latch to the right and push it back in until it snaps into position. Then, pivot the tab on the front fan assembly to close the latch inside. 10.
