GS752TP, GS728TP, and GS728TPP Gigabit Smart Switches Troubleshooting The Troubleshooting menu contains links that provide access to the features described in the following sections: • Ping • Ping IPv6 • Traceroute • Remote Diagnostics Ping Use the Ping screen to instruct the switch to send a ping request to a specified IP address. You can use this feature to check whether the switch can communicate with a particular network host. Subnet broadcast ping is not supported. The device cannot ping the special broadcast address 255.255.255.255, the local network broadcast address, or a reachable network broadcast address.  To configure the settings and ping a host on the network: 1. Select Maintenance  Troubleshooting  Ping. The following screen displays: 2. In the IP Address/Host Name field, specify the IP address or the host name of the station you want the switch to ping.
