Page 39 highlights

Installing Hardware Options • When a single hot-plug power supply is being replaced, or when converting from hot-plug AC to DC or DC to AC power supplies, the server must be powered down before replacing the hot-plug power supply. • When adding a second power supply, the server must first be configured for hot-plug power redundancy by removing the PCI riser board in PCI slot 2. Refer to the following section and to the documentation that shipped with the server. Converting Hot-Plug Power Supply Bay 2 WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the power supply or power supply blank to cool before touching it. CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless all bays are populated with either a component or a blank. 1. Power down the server, remove from the rack and remove the access panel. Refer to the documentation that shipped with the server. 2. Disconnect any cables leading from an expansion board in PCI riser board 2 and remove the expansion board and expansion board assembly. See previous procedure. NOTE: The PCI riser board removed from PCI slot 2, and any existing expansion board, can be retained for future use. 2-20 HP ProLiant DL360 Generation 3 Server Setup and Installation Guide
